Date posted: March 3, 2025 | Date updated: March 3, 2025

The Carlsbad Charitable Foundation is proud to support Voices (Un)Muted: My American Dream, a unique student-driven program at Carlsbad High School that empowers young voices through storytelling, performance, and visual arts. This initiative, made possible by the Carlsbad Educational Foundation and the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation, provides students with an opportunity to explore and express their personal and collective experiences within the framework of the American Dream.

A collaboration between English and Visual and Performing Arts classes, Voices (Un)Muted fosters creativity, self-expression, and community engagement. Through monologues, spoken word, theater, and visual art, students are given a platform to share their diverse perspectives, highlighting the dreams, challenges, and aspirations that shape their identities.

This program exemplifies the power of arts education in shaping future leaders and fostering meaningful dialogue. By amplifying student voices, Voices (Un)Muted encourages a deeper understanding of personal and cultural narratives, strengthening the connection between students and the broader Carlsbad community.

To continue supporting students in the arts, the Carlsbad Educational Foundation will be hosting a Gala on May 17, featuring a performance by The Mighty Untouchables. This event will benefit programs like Voices (Un)Muted, ensuring that students continue to have access to opportunities for creative expression and educational enrichment. We encourage the community to attend and support this important cause.

The Carlsbad Charitable Foundation remains committed to supporting impactful initiatives like this, recognizing their role in empowering youth and enriching the local cultural landscape. Thank you to all the students, educators, and supporters who contribute to making this program a success.
