Introducing the Award
The Knox Williams Philanthropy Award is named in honor of longtime Carlsbad philanthropist Knox Williams.
The award recognizes Williams' 56 years of dedicated support for the Carlsbad community and his role as the Foundation's founding Chairman in 2007.
Hospice of the North Coast
Hospice of the North Coast provides compassionate end-of-life care, grief counseling, and community support services throughout North County San Diego.
Whether you're navigating a serious illness, grieving a loss, or looking to give back—you're in the right place.
Knox Williams' Legacy
As founding Chairman, Knox Williams helped shape the Foundation's earliest work, including selecting one of its first grants, awarded to a local elementary school where parents were paying a teacher to stay after class and teach 5th graders financial literacy.
Foundation members backed the initiative, and it has since grown to all nine Carlsbad-area elementary schools that now offer the program, thanks to a partnership with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.
Since 2007, the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation has distributed over 1.6 million in grants to local nonprofits: a legacy Williams helped build from day one.
